Lochs Farming
Genetics that work for you
WHO WE ARE
We're determined to deliver genetics that minimise workload whilst focusing on productivity and profits. Our commercial operation is where these performance recorded stock get road tested under harsh high rainfall, high stocking rate conditions. It's here we quickly see what can handle the pressure and do it with ease. These are the genetics we want to bring to you.
Less workload for producers. More kilograms produced. A product that buyers want - and an eating experience that consumers value.
Lochs Farming is situated at Hordern Vale, 10 km from Cape Otway on the South West Victorian coast. In a 1200mm rainfall zone, the 1600ha operation ranges in topography from steep ocean fronted hills, rich productive river flats, a small amount of sand hills with the majority of our country being undulating/steep heavy clay loam. Its the perfect climate to test out maternal genetics.

Bruce Costin
Co - Owner
Bruce's passion of ag lead him accross the ditch in his early 20's to study Agricultural Science at Lincoln University, he then worked on a number of properties throughout NZ before returning home.
Bringing home a wealth of knowledge learnt from a range of NZ farming operations, he had a large impact on the management sytems on farm and in particular the Romney stud and its genetics.
While grandkids, travel and getting to as many Geelong Cats games as possible are now his and Angies top priorities, he is still very much involved in the running of Lochs Farming. He is a very valued sounding board for Rob, and has a handy dog team for mustering and moves.
